Menopause and How Nutritional Therapy Can Help

I have equal numbers of men and women as my clients but perhaps one of the most conditions I am asked to support these menopausal symptoms for women. There are a wide range of conditions exhibited by women and each person is different. Some women exhibit depression, weight gain, fatigue, osteoporosis, reduced sex drive, vaginal dryness, and hot flushes.

I work with my clients to help reduce and relive some of these symptoms with a bespoke, tailored, and nutritional therapy programme. Many respond extremely well to these protocols. Other ladies find great help using small amounts of progesterone used as a cream which is available on prescription from the doctor.

Supplementation of Vitamin C and Vitamin E combined with bioflavonoids can also help reduce hot flushes. For many ladies who seek my nutritional therapy advice one of the most common side-effects of entering the menopause is vaginal dryness. Commonly this can be the result of a lack of essential fatty acids which make the prostaglandins that help to balance the hormone levels. In order for prostaglandins to function properly, the body needs sufficient levels of vitamin B6, Zinc and magnesium. I work together with my female clients in London or all over the UK to create bespoke nutritional programmes to suit their requirements. Some of my recommendations can include reducing the amount of sugar and stimulants in the diet and combining this with a tablespoon of cold-pressed oil Similarly a heaped tablespoon of ground seeds such as pumpkin or sunflower seeds to contribute to essential fats, magnesium and zinc, can also be hugely beneficial in relieving symptoms.

Each client is different but as a general rule the following supplementary protocol can be advantageous:

X2 multi-vitamin and multi-mineral tablets taken daily with food

X2 Vitamin C 1,000mg with 500mg bioflavonoids

Vitamin E 400mg

Bone mineral complex (including extra magnesium and Zinc)

Herbal complex with Dong Quai, black cohosh, St Johns Wort or Angus Castus

X2 Essential Omega 3 and 6 Oil Capsules

I can advise if all or some of this protocol is necessary together with the most effective supplements that can get to work quickly on restoring your body to full health.

As well as running the Nutritionist London website, so many of my clients were interested in learning more about my specialties I have also created HjNutritionsit.co.uk to support those needs. Here I write articles and share more insights into the various conditions I support.

I offer one on one consultancy, team wellness consultancy as well as a range of other nutritional therapy packages. Usually, you can expect a discovery call to allow me to understand if I can support you needs, This is free and is a quick 15 minute call. You can drop me a message via my contact form above. Form then, we organise a consultation. This is a 1-hour deep dive into your conditions, requirements and needs and I help create a nutritional protocol for you. We then follow this up a few weeks later to see how you are getting on and make any adjustments to your diet or nutrition programme. For some clients, I consult with them on a regular basis (maybe once a month) if required to support them on their health journey.
